If his partner enjoys to sing, he puts on some music after dinner and listens with a smile, occasionally quietly singing with them, as he cleans up the plates. He tells his partner funny anecdotes from work or discusses how the system could do better for struggling students. Since his days are often rather busy, he asks them about their day over dinner and talks about his as well. He loves holding their hand when they’re out and about, or to have their hand tucked into the crook of his arm. If the playful kisses make them smile, he does it all the more. He dips in and kisses their cheek or the corner of their mouth or even their nose. Be it when they decide what to eat for breakfast or what clothes to wear. He loves to steal little kisses when his partner seems preoccupied with thoughts. He listens to his partner when they ask something of him or explain their problems and pain to him.

He researches chronic pain extensively and how to best be helpful. He doesn’t mind at all to adjust to their needs if they have a bad day. Aizawa has little patience for cruel callousness, especially if it’s aimed to hurt someone he loves. If someone wants to cause a stink, he shuts them down quickly and ruthlessly, firmly and with enough warning to get the other person to back off. He absolutely does not stand for anyone belittling or insulting his partner. If they don’t share a home, he has everything they need stocked at his place, so they never have to worry or be uncomfortable when they want to stay over. He asks his partner and learns what pain rating needs what care and how best to make it easier for them. Aizawa doesn’t ever want to be patronizing, so he figures out the best ways to be helpful. At the same time, he pays attention if his partner falls quiet or their face starts to look tense. Aizawa still makes sure to talk with his partner, to ask what they’re comfortable with and how they’re doing, since communication is important to him. He learns to recognize the signs for when their pain gets too much or they need a break. Outings are more relaxing if his partner can maneuver around easier.
